Ashley and Shane Flannery Wedding Dec 26, 2010!
Congratulations to Ashley and Shane! You are a beautiful couple and will have a beautiful life in ALASKA!!! What an adventure! We want to thank you for being so trusting of us and allowing us to create your perfect day in just 6 weeks! We loved making all your stationary, floral, and decor! It's not often we catch a bride before she has began her planning that is willing to let Charmed do it all so we really want to thank you for allowing us to showcase what we can accomplish in only 6 weeks! You guys were a pleasure to work with! Check out all the photos below. Though the weather did force us off the beach front at the last minute (and I mean LAST minute) we made it work and it turned out beautiful!
This is the reception table setup pre-lit and before the floral was added!
This ended up being the ceremony site. It was originally supposed to take place on the beach but due to the windy and sand blowing strong, we had to make a change of plans. The Backup plan that Diamondhead suggested was a room on the third floor but it was a little dark and boring so we Charmed ladies started casing the place for an alternative. When we walked out onto the terrace the restaurant uses for their outside dining, we knew we had to make this work. Since it was tucked away in the corner of the building it was sheltered from the wind BUT it was drizzling on and off. We asked the Banquets Manager Marcel (whom was amazing to us) to look up the forecast hour by hour. It showed 10%... we went for it!! Though we did get drizzled on and frozen while decorating the ceremony site, the view was well worth it! It always comes in handy to order extra sashes. We had planned to use iron posts to drape tool on the beach but since the ceremony site changed we weren't able to barry the posts, so we tied beautiful bows to attached the tulle to the chairs! It looked great!
While the ceremony went on, we lit the room and did some final touches just before the guests arrived!
We added our signature Bride and Groom signs as a surprise for our lovely couple and created a label that matched the rest of the stationary we used throughout the wedding.
Ashley brought in some photos of cakes she liked online and we were able to take many of the aspects from each to create a beachy yet classy cake! Believe it or not, this is from Publix on Gladiolus! One of the bakery girls, Jennifer, was great!!! Not only was she there to help us translate the vision to the baker but she made sure she delivered it and decorated it onsite! Thanks again Jennifer!
So cute, the groom joked with the bride that he wanted a dinosour themed wedding so the bride surprised him with a grooms cake! Being a Rays fan we had the decorator add a baseball cap with the TB logo! Soooo cute (and only 14$!!!) Also from Publix!
These are the favors we found for the bride online! Only 40 cents each and we added custom tags in the wedding colors to spice up the table setting. The tag says"enjoy a coockie or two from Shane and Ashley just for you." Im a poet!!! lol
This is one of my favorite parts of the decor. THe bride originally wanted to use starfish with tags on them or sand dollars with names written but we wanted to do somthing different while still being beachy. We also wanted to tye in the shades of blue and damask. After looking for inspiration I came across a photo of the cutest beach chairs place cards but they had bought the little bright colored umbrellas. I knew I could make my own umbrellas so I explained the idea and thankfully the bride trusted that I could make it work! Im so glad she did because it was a big hit!
I went to check on the ceremony to see how far along we were and realized it was almost over so I ran back into the ballroom to snag a couple more photos before the guest came in!
The family members came back in from photos so fast that I had to run out to the beach to make sure that the bride was getting all the photos she wanted. It's easy to hurry the photos when you want to get to the party (especially when its windy wet and cold) but it's our job to remind the bride that all she will have to remember the day when its gone are the photos and we would hate for our bride to wish they had gotten more. So, after a pep talk with the bride and the bridal party, they tuffed it out and went out to the beach (sooo cold) and took a few pictures before sunset. We also insisted that the family come back out to take more photos in the warmth of the lobby. Turns out there were a LOT of photos that they still wanted but just didn't think about the importance of getting at the time! So remeber our future bride and grooms, NEVER WIMP OUT ON THE PHOTOS! Use your entire cocktail hour and be creative and fun. Your photographer will usually have more than enough photos that they want to get so often you may be more concerned about getting back in your reception room on time. But, if you hired an unexperienced photogragher (wich you should NEVER do) or you feel like you want more than your getting, say so! Tell your photographer exactly what you want and make sure you get it. Or hire Charmed and we will do it for you:)
We made the bouquet based on a photo that the bride sent to us! Inspirational photos are a must for every portion of your wedding. Bring them to all your meeting and keep them with you so each vendor can work independently yet maintain the vision and feel of your wedding!
This was a beautiful couple and we know they will keep in touch and let us know how Charming their life has become!
Special thanks to Daddy for making this special day come alive! We loved working with you all!
The bride on her way downstairs to the ceremony site. The hallway was like a wind tunnel!
*check out all the floral that was created in collaboration with Charmed and help from one of Ashley's bridesmaids Jessica! Thanks for the extra hands Jess!
Here's a table set up with the centerpieces! We put the floral together right on the floor in the reception room that morning! FUN FUN FUN!
