Thrift Store Finds!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Thrift Store Shopping and I've been doing a lot of that lately.  I am working on a beautiful "Pretty and Pink in the Park" wedding theme.  What is that you ask?  Well it perfectly describes my late October brides wedding!  Elysia and her fiance' Amar are both ballet dancers in NY with Amar being one of the principal dancers with the NYC Ballet Company and Elysia hot on his tail as a dancer/instructor for Columbia.  The ceremony will be on Naples Beach and the reception will be  on a bright green lawn just over a sweet little wooden bridge.  The linen will be ivory with pink and white shades of billowy flowers covering the tables, set with gold chavari chairs and an array of unique vintage saucers at each place setting.

I cant wait to see the finished product!  90 saucers down and 50 more to go!

Custom Magnets

I made these for my Gram and my friend for their birthday this month.  It's so easy and the options are endless!  I only gave myself about 3 hours to get the project done.. thankfully, it didn't even take that long!

All you'll need are magnets (I got mine at a craft store)
clear glass stones
a tin (you could use an altoids box if your stones are small but I used a tin for gift cards)
super glue
modge podge
scissors
paper with design of your choice (I googled vintage designs and then added letters in ipages)

I added some fun glasses to my girlfriends gift.. after all, it's her 30th!  Who wouldn't need drinking glasses for such an occasion!
For detailed instructions visit  Brixton Lane thanks for the great ideas!!

DIY: Making a fortune cookie place card holder!!

By the way, I have to do this video over again because I messed up a very important step.  After you roll the circle and attach the center, you have to pull the two ends together with the foldover in the center (that you glued) being on the outside (not inside as the video shows) then you will find that it actually looks like a genuine fortune cookie! Sorry about that, it will be updated very soon!
